Fleet 19 of the Catalina 27 Sailing Association is a cruising fleet, operating in the Northern Chesapeake Bay. Our goal is to share our experiences sailing the Catalina 27 with others who enjoy this popular boat. We also enjoy sharing the skills we have developed on the Bay and on our boats with sailors that are new to the Bay or new to their boat.

Although we are chartered for Catalina 27 and 270, we also welcome sailors with boats of any size or brand to join Fleet 19 and to share in the fun.

Fleet 19 has monthly sailing activities from May through October. These day-long, weekend and longer cruises are designed to build skills and confidence in our boats and to enjoy the company of other sailors. We also have winter activities that keep us “sailing” through the off-season.

-->The combined Fleet 8/Fleet 19 Moonlight Cruise was greatly diminished by the extreme heat (can we say folks were dropping out like flies?). Mariposa opted to go to Worton Creek instead, but Cheri Lynn made the whole trip and what a trip it was! Clear skies, brisk wind (albeit pretty warm and humid) and a bright moon made for a fantastic moonlit cruise. Check out the pictures here.

--> It is almost time for Fleet 8's second Full Week cruise (August 14-21, 2010). Check out the Fleet Calendar page for details. Please email Gerry Braddick if you plan to go (so marina reservations can be made).

--> Our next event will be our own Monthly Moonlight Cruise on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 5 p.m. at Darkhead Creek.

--> Send your SNOW BOAT pictures and we will make a collage (remember when??) to lynnzaxser@yahoo.com or snail-mail them to Lynn Thornton-Conner, 7870 Chalice Road, Severn, MD 21144. You can also leave them at our boat, S/V Cheri Lynn, slip 703, Maryland Marina, (place in a closed, Ziploc-style bag). Let me know if you wish the disc/stick/photo returned. I can also scan hardcopy photos.
